ABOUT ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK

In 1967, the Momela Game Reserve and the Meru Crater Game Reserve were merged, resulting in the formation of the Arusha National Park as it exists today. The park’s creation aimed to protect a wider range of habitats, including montane forests, grasslands, and wetlands.

Arusha National Park’s accessibility and diverse landscapes have made it a popular tourist destination. It offers opportunities for wildlife viewing, birdwatching, hiking, and other outdoor activities.

Game view in Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park offers a unique and diverse game-viewing experience, despite being one of the smaller national parks in Tanzania. While it may not have the large herds of iconic African animals like the Serengeti or Ngorongoro Crater, it compensates with its picturesque landscapes and a variety of wildlife species.
