Day 1 : Arrival
Arusha in Africa is your gateway to Tanzania’s treasure trove
Arrival in Entebbe in the evening with Brussels at 22:10 – Airport shuttle organised by The BOMA.

Day 2 : Ziwa
Transfer to Ziwa
Transfer to Ziwa at 8 am. After an early breakfast, your round trip will begin, along the way you will have the opportunity to stop at Victoria Mall, change money at the ATM (please use the Diamond Trust on the right side next to the branch), maybe buy a SIM card at Airtel (office outside the left of the mall) or buy some snacks for the trip at Carrefour, before heading to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You will start in Ziwa with a late lunch. Afterwards there is a guided afternoon hike at 16:00 and / or a night safari on foot – please bring headlamps. During the nature walk you will see animals, birds and sometimes the first rhinos. During the night safari, the nocturnal animals and sometimes rhinos or a leopard. Both hikes are included in the package. They are free to decide whether they want to do both or just one. The cottage is located in the middle of the rhino area and often the rhinos roam directly around the huts.
OPTION:
we can organize the shoebill boat safari with a speedboat this morning. Then your guide will take you to the boat and after about 3 hours your round trip will start around noon. Extra charge 150$ pp and must be booked 4- 6 weeks before the start of the trip. However, the afternoon Nature Walk is then omitted and only the Night Walk is feasible.
OR you decide to spend one more night in Entebbe either at the beginning or the end of the trip to have a relaxed shoebill boat trip. Extra cost pp 300$

Day 3: Murchison Park

After an early breakfast, a walking safari with rhinos awaits you from 8am. See the white rhinos up close on a guided walking safari. Then we continue to the viewpoint of Murchison Falls in Murchison NP. There you will have time for your lunch picnic with Rolex or other Uganda takeaways provided by your driver on the way in Masindi. Afterwards it goes on to a first game drive in Murchison Park.

On the way up the Nile to the waterfalls you will see many animals, for example crocodiles, elephants and beautiful Vögel.Im package price includes a small private boat instead of the tourist ship. This drives closer to the shore, gives you time for photos and also drives back a bit if you miss something. If you wish, the boat will pick you up directly at the lodge. Morning hike through the Bigodi Wetlands with a local guide to see endemic monkeys, birds and more, and get explanations about nature, plants and how to use them – this experience is followed by a local lunch at Tinka with good Ugandan cuisine and explanation of Ugandan table and cooking culture – or lunch at Chimpundu Lodge if you prefer. (please decide before the trip, we have to book this accordingly) In the afternoon there is chimpanzee tracking. In the afternoon it is not so crowded and you can usually see the chimpanzees better than in the morning.

Day 8 : Queen Elizabeth NP

Today transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP. First stop at a crater lake and from there to a vanilla plantation community project, where the best organic vanilla is produced and the entire process is explained to the guests. The vanilla can be purchased there and is of exceptional quality – $2.5 per bean. If vanilla is purchased, the tour is free, if not, they are happy to receive a small donation. Afterwards we pass some banana markets (Matoke) – photo stop!. Today we organize a local lunch – typical Ugandan street food (Rolex or goat grill – Rolex is an omelette with vegetables rolled into a chapati pan bread – the name comes from to roll and to take ex (take away) and has nothing to do with a specific Swiss watch brand. If you don’t want that, a stop will be made in a good restaurant. Before reaching the lodge, your driver will make a stop at Twin Lakes View Point before reaching the lodge. This can also be done the next day.

From 7 a.m. the lion/leopard tracking included in the package price.In Queen Elizabeth, you will have the opportunity to participate in early morning lion and predator tracking. This is a new activity and it is really worth taking part in. You will be allowed to follow the ranger vehicle with your safari vehicle off-track and will certainly see lions and probably leopards up close.At 2 p.m., a second highlight of the day awaits you, the boat trip in a private luxury boat to the Kazinga Channel. On the banks of the canal you can observe many animals. Lunch as a packed lunch from the lodge with picnic near the jetty or as hot lunch at Mweya Lodge or Mweya Bistro.
Remarks: Elephant Plains lodge is best located to both activities. The other luxurious lodge is Mweya lodge, but this one is too far from the early morning activity.

In the early morning you can go on a game drive or visit the elephant dung project*. Afterwards there will be an early lunch and transfer to Bwindi to see the gorillas.*since elephants always haunt the farmers’ fields, this project offers a small compensation by buying the dung. Daraud is then made a hand-made paper. The process is explained and you can buy products made of this paper there, but also others such as a cold-pressed Avacado oil for the skin.

Your gorilla tracking day – today the magical encounter with our cousins will fill your day. We will contact the local staff a few days before tracking to make sure we find a good gorilla group for the gorilla that can be reached with a not too strenuous hike. However, this cannot be determined exactly, as the gorillas travel at different speeds and you don’t know in the morning in which direction they are running. Relax in the lodge in the afternoon or explore the craft shops at the gate. The lodge also offers various activities.At the Gorilla Leisure Lodge we have booked a 30 Minute massage for you, which can be taken either the evening before the tracking or after the tracking.

Day 11 : Lake Bunyonyi

Transfer to Bunyonyi Lake.After breakfast, you will start to Bunyonyi Lake. The first stop is at the western point of Lake Bunyonyi – toilet stop and beautiful birds on the shore. Then continue to the east side of the lake via the Arcadia Lodge viewpoint – enjoy a drink there.For lunch, arrive at the Bird Nest Resort. A speciality at Lake Bunyonyi are the crayfish. A small freshwater crab. If you like it, have your driver pre-order it for dinner. You prepare it either as an appetizer with avocado or as a main course in a Marsala sauce or butter garlic sauce.Afternoon boat tour on the lake with various possibilities: hikes short to moderately difficult can be arranged by the boat driver as desired, as well as a visit to the island hospital and/or a school. In addition, you can book activities in the climbing park, such as a zip line over the lake or the giant swing. Stand-up paddling can also be booked. Our boat guide will advise you on this and can also show everything from the boat and explain the extra costs for these additional activities.

Transfer to Lake Mburo NP with afternoon game drive. Longhorn cattle, so-called Ankole cattle, are bred around Lake Mburo. The national park is a small but exceptionally beautiful park. The only one with zebras on this trip. But also giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes including eland and much more. It is also a top destination for birdwatchers. In the afternoon and the next day, a walking safari in the park is planned. This must be booked one day in advance and is included in the price.Lunch: upon arrival in Kigambira.
