Tanzania’s 10 attractions nominated for World Travel Awards
Tanzania to the world!!!
Tanzania has once again taken center stage on the global tourism map, with ten of its national parks and attractions nominated for the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA) 2024. The nominations reflect the country’s outstanding biodiversity, breathtaking landscapes, and the government’s commitment to conservation and tourism development.
A Record Number of Nominations
According to Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) Conservation Commissioner, William Mwakilema Lyimo, this year marks a historic moment for Tanzania, with more parks than ever before competing in a variety of categories. “This success is a direct result of the government’s unwavering efforts to protect and promote our national parks,” Lyimo noted.
Traditionally, Tanzania had only two entries in these awards—Serengeti National Park and Mount Kilimanjaro National Park—both of which have dominated their categories for over six years. Now, the expanded list reflects a broader recognition of the country’s natural wealth and diverse tourism offerings.
