About Kitulo National Park

Local refer the Kitulo National Park as The Garden of God, Nature Responsible Safari refer it as Paradise of love and botanists refers it as Serengeti of Flowers, it is the great floral spectacles of the world’.

Apart from having beautiful and unique and wild flower species there are hundreds of birds singing and migrating to the Kitulo Highland Forest.  Kitulo National Park is one of the newest National Park in Tanzania but the only one with natural wild flower species.

God’s Garden or you can call it paradise of love is the park of its kind in Africa where wild flowers, birds and harmonious grass eating mammals are dominating.

Kitulo National Park is located between the rugged peaks of the Kipengere, Livingstone and Poroto Mountains in Southern Highlands of Tanzania. It is documented that there are 350 species of wild flowers including lilies and fields of daisies in Kitulo.

For the sighting of rare Denham’s bustard, the endangered blue swallow, mountain marsh widow, Njombe cisticola and Kipengere seedeater, Kitulo National Park is the palace to be. Kitulo National Park is the natural resting site for intercontinental migrating birds during periods of the year on their way to Europe. It is the only park where migrating Storks rest for some months and later continue with their long journey across the continent.

Endemic species of butterfly, chameleon, lizard and frog makes this park more special, unique and of its kind in Africa

Kitulo National Park is a stand-alone national park because it attracts floristics visits compared to other parks in Tanzania with the traditional wildlife safari like Serengeti and others. It is time now to explore the other beauty of Tanzania, yes there is wildlife, but let us combine the wildlife experience with this new experience.

Kitulo National Park covers a total of 413 square kilometers of forest-land, dominated with plants and few wild animals which together form a natural habitat that is tourist attractive by itself. Most of the visitors compare this park to the Biblical Garden of Eden. This Park is the only natural habitat area in Africa perched on the sky at a higher altitude than any known park in the continent.
